(CM) when Atticus was younger he was known as, “ol’ one shot Finch” Because he had an amazing shot with a rifle. He used to consider shooting fifteen birds with fourteen bullets a waste of ammo because he was a lot better than that. (CS) There is more to Atticus Finch than an old man who sits around all day reading law because if you really learn about him you would know that he is actually a very interesting guy.

Crying
Crying, a bad thing or a good thing
An Essay by Harry Staley
8th grade English

October 17, 2010
Crying is a very powerful emotion that is shown when someone is sad or happy. When you are sad I consider crying to be a bad thing. When you are happy crying is a good thing. In the book To Kill A Mockingbird Jem cries because a tree that was very important to him was destroyed by Mr. Radley.
(TS)Crying is a very distinct way of showing your emotions. (SD)Whenever I see somebody weeping I automatically assume something is wrong that very moment. (CM) Every once in a while, you will notice someone crying because they are either sad or happy. (CM) Crying is not necessarily a bad thing but depending on what mood you are in it is a very strong emotion. (SD) Crying is a very hard thing to get through when you are stressed and are very sad. (CM) Whenever I am very sad and stressed out I calm down and take a shower, which seems to calm me. (CM) I don’t exactly know what about taking a shower calms me, but whatever it is really seems to work. (CS) Crying can be a terrible feeling, but it is still ok to cry.
(TS)Crying signifies an emotion brought about by either great happiness or sadness, when people feel joyful or endure misery . (SD) Mrs. Iacoi, my art teacher, cries when she is touched by emotional ninth grade speeches or meaningful assemblies. (CM)Usually she is not the only one crying at these times, because other adults cry along with her. (CM)Mrs. Iacoi might be happy now but in a short while she might be weeping because she misses them (SD) On the other hand crying implies sorrow. For example, in To Kill A Mockingbird Jem cries when he finds that the hole in the tree has been filled in with cement. (CM)When he notices the cement he automatically becomes sad, but his sister scout gives him encouragement and says, “come on Jem don’t cry please don’t cry.” (CM) The second Jem got home he attempted to hold himself back, but he just couldn’t do it. (SD) Crying is a very strong emotion that can be used in a few different ways, unfortunately Jem didn’t cry in the happy way.
Whenever I think of someone crying I think of a person weeping because they are sad. What some people do not always remember is that sometimes people cry because they are happy. I don’t think crying is a bad thing at all. Nobody likes to cry but at one point if every one’s life they will.

Feestyle writing
Today was a pretty good day. I had a field trip! It was a lot of fun, because I got to speak Spanish when we were in the exhibit. When we were in the art exhibit they spoke Spanish to teach us about the countries the pieces of art were from. Right now I am watching TV it is boring, so I just turned it off so now I am writing. I can’t wait till Halloween it will be so much fun! I will get the mother lode of candy it will be delicious. My favorite type of candy is probably coconut patties. They are so good; if I had a room full of them they would be gone. I also like food. I eat so much food that sometimes I think I’m fat. I know I’m not fat, I’m far from it! Well my fifteen minutes of free writing is almost up so I will post this shortly. When I finish this I will post on my reading blog and then relax because I have all my homework done. Well I am done so bye.

Boo Radley is a young dangerous boy who is not seen out of his house much. Boo has had very hard times in his life and he has made terrible decisions. He was given the opportunity to go to school but his father wouldn’t let him go. Now Boo Radley is a psycho kid.

(CM)The gang tried to pull useless pranks and do disruptive crimes. (CM) One day they pulled some pranks but they couldn’t get away in time, so they got in trouble and had to go to court. (CM) After Boo committed the terrible crime he wiped the blood off on his leg and he resumed his cutting. (CM) Boos mother ran outside screaming, “Arthur is killing them all.” (CS)Evan though Boo is a pretty messed up kid I think he will turn himself around.
After a long while Boo's brother Nathan emerged from the darkness of their home and he was still a frightening child. I think Boo should follow in his brother’s footsteps and go outside. He could always snap back to the way he was before but I think if he stays with the right crowd he will stay normal. Boo has made some decisions that will stay with him his entire life and he will have to live with that but he is still a human and should be respected like anyone else.

The Wind
The different sides of the wind and I
An essay by Harry Staley
8th grade English
Pine Point School
October 4, 2010
By: Harry Staley
Nothing can stop the flow of the wind as it changes direction and strength, but rarely stops moving. On one hand, the wind pounds strongly during a storm when the waves are crashing against the rocks. On the other hand, the wind blows very beautifully on a cold fall day when the leaves are falling. It can even scoop down and grab a leaf off the ground and throw it around the yard, while the leaf becomes part of the wind and soars and glides like a plane. I am like the wind because I like to keep moving.
(TS) The wind blows strongly and sometimes dangerously, but for the most part it moves soft and graciously. (SD) I am gusty like the wind. (CM) The wind wafts around the world without stopping once; it might slow down, but the wind currents are always still traveling. (CM) Like the wind, I never stop. (SD) I cruise around the school energetically trying to accomplishing what I can to get to where I need to be while traveling around the halls and walkways. (CM) Sometimes the wind can cause damage by taking my paper and scattering them around campus. (CM) The papers soar like a white dove in the violent breeze. (SD) The gusty wind blows in many different directions as the day goes on. (CM)I feel that sometimes I will blow in many different directions as the day goes on and I learn new things (CM) Sometimes when I am inside of a class I feel the energy building up inside me like the trees rustling in the wind. (CS) I am like the wind.
At the end of some days the wind might slowly slow down. At the end of my days I slowly become tired and go to sleep. The winds strong puffs will slowly become a soft breeze and turn into a little waft of wind brushing against your skin. Once you are in bed sleeping the wind might start up again, but it also might become even softer. After your long day at school you start to fad,e and the wind also starts to fade

polished strange person essay
(TS) Weirdness could be a good thing or a bad thing. (SD) I know some people who are very weird. (CM) Some of the people I know are very strange but in a good way, but a lot of people I know are strange in a bad way. (SD) Strangeness is a good thing to me, because being strange is another way of being unique. (CM) Being yourself is what it’s all about, it may be weird but that’s ok. (SD) I know a young boy who is very strange. (CM) His name is Ian. Ian is strange because he likes to tie his face up with rope. (CM) I think this is strange because to most people would find it painful. (CS) Ian is a very strange boy but that is just who he is and he can’t change that.
(TS) In my life I have meet many weird and strange people. (SD) Out of all these people there was one that really stood out to me. (CM) His name is Ian and he likes to tie his face up with a rope. (CM) I think this is strange because to most people this would hurt, but to Ian it is an amusing event he likes to do. (SD) When I first meet Ian he was acting very strange, so strange I tried to stay away from him. (CM) I couldn’t stay away from him for long because after a couple minutes I was forced to sail with him, after the sail was over I realized it was the most outrageous sail of my life. (SD)With every line on the boat he tried to tie his face up. (CM) I don’t exactly know how he did it but he did and I was amazed. (CM) I didn’t know what to think except for, what he is doing or, what is wrong with him. (CS) Of course Ian and I became close friends over the summer and now I miss his tied up face.
(TS) Ian is truly the weirdest person I know, but he is still my friend. (SD) Now that the summer is over I kind of miss his creepy looking tied up face. (CM) It looked all mangled up and his lips were all separated and contorted. (CM) He was pretty funny while he did it too. (SD) I don’t understand why he did it but when he did he cracked up every one. (CM) Some people had to leave the room from laughing so hard. (CM) He even laughed hard too. (SD) Sailing with him was the biggest pain in the neck. (CM) whenever I was steering the boat I had to try to collect myself so I wouldn’t run into anything. (CM) Keeping my self-calm didn’t always work, and whenever I asked him to stop he would say, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” (CS) Evan though he was a pain in the butt at some time he was the weirdest funny kid I’ve ever met.
